How We Find Your Match

Finding the right speaker shouldn’t feel like a chore. We’ve kept our matching process simple and personal:

  1. The First Stitch: Reach out to us at info@buildingonthreads.ca with a little bit about your event—the date, the audience, and the vibe you’re going for.
  2. The Discovery: We’ll take a look at our bureau to see which of our speakers’ journeys and expertise align best with your goals.
  3. The Introduction: We’ll suggest a few speakers we think are a great fit and, with their interest confirmed, we’ll make the introduction.
  4. The Connection: From there, you and the speaker can chat directly to finalize the details and make sure everything is a “go.”

As we build this bureau and grow our reach across Northern Ontario, we are currently offering our speaker matching services at no charge to organizations. This is our way of helping these vital stories get heard while we scale. Please note that this will eventually transition to a paid service as our platform expands, so now is the perfect time to connect with us!

We believe in respect and balance for everyone in our community. While we do our best to find you the perfect match, please keep in mind that our speakers have full autonomy. They decide which opportunities best fit their personal mission, values, and schedules. This ensures that when a speaker says “yes” to your event, they are truly excited and fully present to share their heart with your audience.

Who We Are:

There is a massive, untapped wealth of skill, wisdom, and grit in the people of Northern Ontario. We live in a place where the landscape is vast, but our stories are even deeper. Building On Threads was created to be a comprehensive, one-stop shop for our region—stitching together a podcast, a magazine, and a speakers bureau to ensure these voices are heard, connected, and celebrated.

While our focus is firmly on Northern Ontario, we believe that the journey of the human spirit is universal. We aren’t exclusionary; if you have a story that fits our mission of triumph, growth, and healing, we want to hear it.

Why We Started

This mission is deeply personal. For me, the catalyst for everything was the loss of my nephew. That heartbreak sparked a series of life-altering changes and led me to a realization: my story needed to be told. In finding my own voice through the grief, I realized that so many others are carrying stories that are just waiting for a place to land. Healing is an art shared by all, and we are here to make sure those stories find their way to the people who need them most.
